Kate Oh Gallery is proud to announce its first photography show since its establishment in 2017, featuring photographs by Francis Murphy. The exhibit, Francis’ first solo show in New York, will present Francis’ major works that have yet to be exhibited to the world.
Francis Murphy started his photography career as a teenager by apprenticing in London and working for newspapers and magazines in fashion and portraiture. Once established in his career, he moved into the fashion industry in Paris, France. He then moved to New York to experience life as a photographer and expand his portfolio to children’s photography. His extensive career gained him experience in both high-end editorial work and commercial advertising.
Not only does Francis shoot incredible images, he also developed and helped launch a new eco-friendly magazine called Plenty, where he responsible for all cover and fashion shoots as the staff photographer.
Throughout his career, Francis has had a few exhibition highlights. In June of 1999 he participated in a group show for The Benefit of the Tibetan Museum and through the month of January to March in 2002, Francis was in the exhibition entitled The Inn at Stone Ridge in New York. “Take Home A Nude” was an exhibition he took part in through the New York Academy of the Arts in December of 2005. More recently, Francis Murphy had a group show in April of this year. The group photography exhibition was with the Salmagundi Club in New York City. And now we are pleased to display his work at Kate Oh Gallery in his first solo show in New York City.
To this day, Francis Murphy continues to pursue his fine art photography and commission work while working on his personal portfolio as well.
