Title : We Warriors Stand Together To Create Mountains

Year : 2017

Medium : Ink and gouache on New Mexico soil stained paper

Dimension : 15 × 19 inches (38.1 × 48.3 cm)

Description

Out in the open landscape of Arizona, these two arrows still stand at an abandoned trading post off HWY I-40. Twin Arrows represents and still stands for warrior pride of the Navajo tribe. The triangle design acts as a type of sun giving light for direction. Triangles in Navajo weaving are the fabric of basic building blocks. For myself, this piece represents having the building blocks of art giving light and direction to create with pride and joy. Having some personal insecurities about my own art I can stand alongside fellow artists to keep moving forward.
